OVERVIEW

Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (HIMSR) is a Deemed medical college and hospital located in New Delhi, India. It was established in 2012 and is affiliated with Jamia Hamdard University. Built on an area of 20 acres, the HIMSR provides students with undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma degrees in medicine, healthcare and surgery fields.

Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences & Research has been ranked 22nd by NIRF, which makes it a premium college in the country. The college is also the top college, as it has a well-equipped library, and is well-known for its amenities like labs, auditoriums, and a skill lab. The research lab of the college is well-known as it is often used by students for experiments and forensic medicine. 

HIMSR also offers postgraduate courses in various medical specialties, including MD, MS, and Diploma programs. The admission process for these courses is based on the NEET-PG entrance exam and counseling.

In addition to providing medical education, HIMSR also has a 450-bed teaching hospital, which provides healthcare services to patients from all over India. Students can practice and explore various fields of medicine, like cardiology, dermatology, ENT, general medicine, oncology, and much more.

HIMSR is situated in the heart of South Delhi, in the Okhla area. It is easily accessible by both private and public transport and is located near major landmarks such as the Lotus Temple, Nehru Place, and the Tughlaqabad Fort.

The college has a total of 103 seats for its MBBS program, which is the undergraduate medical course offered at the institute. The admission process is based on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Eligible candidates who meet the cut-off criteria are invited for counselling and admission to the program.

Out of the total seats:

42 are for the General category,

43 are for Reserved category seats (For Muslims),

15 are for the Management category,

And 3 are for the candidates with Locomotor disability of the lower limb.
