Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM) was established in 1980 by a visionary group of intellectuals and industrialists from Andhra Pradesh, led by Dr. M. V. V. S. Murthi, a former Member of Parliament and noted philanthropist. Inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s vision for a socially and economically revitalized India, GITAM aims to promote education as a means to achieve national progress. Gandhiji advocated for inclusive education that transcended linguistic, racial, and other divides, and GITAM embodies these values in its mission.
