Overview of Jaypee University of Engineering & Technology
Jaypee University of Engineering & Technology (JUET), located in Guna, Madhya Pradesh, was established through the Government of Madhya Pradesh’s gazette extraordinary No.3 in 2010, operating as a private university under the MP Niji Vishwavidyalaya Adhiniyam 2007. The university is recognized by the UGC under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956, and received an “A” grade accreditation from NAAC in its first cycle in 2016. Sponsored by the Jaypee Group, JUET evolved from the Jaypee Institute of Engineering and Technology, which was founded in 2003 based on a memorandum of understanding between the Jaiprakash Sewa Sansthan (a not-for-profit trust) and the Madhya Pradesh government, aiming to create a center of excellence in engineering and technology.
Situated in Raghogarh, Guna district, JUET serves several underdeveloped areas, including Shivpuri, Gwalior, Sheopur, Ashoknagar, Sagar, Rajgarh, and Vidisha. The region, primarily rural with significant agricultural activities, is anticipated to become a key industrial center. JUET aims to provide highly skilled technical personnel to meet the growing needs of this area. The university’s campus, spread across 125 acres along the national highway connecting Agra to Mumbai, reflects modern educational standards. The foundation stone was laid on March 15, 2002, by the then Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Digvijay Singh, and academic programs commenced in 2003.
JUET currently offers a range of programs across three faculties: Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Mathematical Sciences, and Faculty of Sciences. The Faculty of Engineering provides four-year B.Tech programs, M.Tech degrees, and doctoral programs in Chemical, Civil, Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, and Mechanical Engineering. The Faculty of Mathematical Sciences offers B.Sc. (Hons), M.Sc., and Ph.D. programs in Mathematics, while the Faculty of Sciences includes B.Sc. (Hons), M.Sc., and Ph.D. programs in Physics and Chemistry.
