Foundation and Growth
Koneru Lakshmaiah Charities was established in 1980 as a trust, with its headquarters located at Museum Road, Governorpet, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. The KL College of Engineering was initiated in the academic year 1980-81. Over the years, the institution has evolved significantly; it was upgraded to KL College of Engineering Autonomous in 2006 by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and subsequently recognized as a Deemed to be University in 2009 by UGC and the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.
Accreditation and Recognition
In 2012, KL Deemed to be University received an ‘A’ grade accreditation from NAAC, which was later upgraded to an ‘A++’ grade in 2018. Additionally, in 2019, the institution was classified as a Category I institution by UGC and MHRD. The university aims to deliver high-quality higher education, engage in innovative research, and meet the evolving needs of society while fostering all-around development of its students, equipping them to be globally competitive and socially responsible individuals.
