University College of Medical Sciences

Overview

University College of Medical Sciences is also called UCMS, and it is a government medical college which is located in Delhi. Established in 1971, the college is affiliated with DU and currently offers UG, PG, and diploma doctoral programs in the field of medicine, healthcare, and surgery. 

UCMS also offers postgraduate courses in various medical specialties, including MD, MS, MCh, DM, and Diploma programs. The admission process for these courses is based on the NEET-PG entrance exam and counseling.

In addition to providing medical education, the medical college is associated with GTB Hospital, which has multiple departments where students can practice. University College of Medical Sciences has been ranked 10th amongst the medical colleges in India by India Today. Furthermore, the NIRF has ranked the college 19 among all medical colleges in India. 

Having a huge library, hospital laboratory services unit, hostel, medical education unit, and skill lab, students can make use of the huge campus and state-of-the-art infrastructure.

UCMS is located in the Dilshad Garden area of Delhi, adjacent to the Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital (GTB Hospital), which is a 1,500-bed teaching hospital affiliated with the college. The campus is easily accessible by both private and public transport and is located near major landmarks such as the Yamuna Sports Complex and the DDA Sports Complex.

UCMS has a total of 150 seats for its MBBS program, which is the undergraduate medical course offered at the institute. The admission process is based on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Eligible candidates who meet the cut-off criteria are invited for counseling and admission to the program.
