- NEET UG Entrance Exams
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduates, commonly known as NEET UG, is a nationwide entrance examination conducted for admissions into undergraduate medical courses in both government and private colleges across India. The primary objective of NEET UG is to establish a standardized and transparent assessment process that ensures the selection of quality candidates and upholds the standard of medical education in the country.
One of the key reasons behind the significance of NEET UG is its capacity to attract a large number of aspirants. For instance, in 2021, the exam witnessed an unprecedented turnout, with nearly 16 lakh students registering for it—the highest number recorded to date. This overwhelming participation highlights the exam’s crucial role in shaping the future of medical education in India.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) is the authoritative body responsible for the smooth and efficient conduct of NEET UG. The NTA’s mission is to enhance the assessment process’s efficiency and effectiveness, thereby identifying and addressing any gaps in the current system. To achieve this, the NTA emphasizes the importance of selecting top-notch subject matter experts who contribute to the exam’s design and execution.

Code 02
To be chosen by ICSE candidates having English + PCMB (Bio/Biotech), with any elective of choice instead of Maths as well. This is also for students who’ve finished their 10+2 from the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) or state open school. Private candidates from the state boards (having bio/biotech as an additional subject) as well as those taking a drop/gap can also opt for this code.

Code 05
To be chosen by candidates who have passed the Class 12 qualifying exam and a 1st-year university level exam (with practicals) in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology.
Code 06
To be chosen by candidates who passed Class 10+2 with English + PCB (Bio/Biotech) and B.Sc examination with not less than 2 subjects out of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology.
Code 07
To be chosen by candidates who have completed 2 years of theory and practicals in English + PCB (Bio/Biotech) and have passed any other examination that’s equivalent to a university-level intermediate science exam.Foreign candidates also have to choose this code, only if the equivalence of their qualifying exam is proved to be at par with India’s Class 12 boards.
The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) is the one that determines this equivalence and even converts grades into marks (if the candidate’s score is in grades)
Documents Required
To secure admission to India’s prestigious engineering institutions, the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), students must take the Joint Entrance Examination-Advanced (JEE Advanced). Supervised by the Joint Admissions Board (JAB) and conducted twice a year, this exam was known as IIT-JEE until 2013. Students are allowed a maximum of two attempts to qualify for admission.
